MINECRAFT

So Minecraft.... Pretty amazing game. what was once in alpha is now in beta and just keeps getting better. My friend recently started up a server online where a group of five of us are all working together mining and erecting out giant castles. The game is about $20, but is well worth the cost if you love seeing your hard work shine in the end with an amazing build that you can show off to others. There's not much to say about this game, or even really a way to describe it that I can think about in a few lines. It's just a game that you have to play with some friends online to really appreciate it. A huge time drainer... but a good one...

Sickness Over, Gym Again

So yeah, I've been pretty ill the last three weeks or so, be ridden most of the time. Before that I was going to the gym every morning at six doing cardio and weight training... And I was pretty proud of myself too. On the arm curl I made it from about 15lb to 30lb in two months with a lot of effort. But having been out for so long in bed and recovering that I've lost about 8lbs or so, hopefully some of that is fat! Don't consider myself too fat though at 5'9"@160lbs =/
Anyways It's time for me to get serious again. Meaning I'll be sleeping by 10:20 every night, waking up 5:20 every morning getting to the gym every morning after a small breakfast of an egg on wholewheat at 6:00AM....FUCK.... then when I get back in an hour Protein shake and breakfast again. Then I need to make myself two lunches, one for third period of class, then another for before fifth period (need to be eating about every three hours or so...). And then in the evenings, I'll fit about 30 minutes of cardio in there about every night (have a treadmill in house)

Anyways, I'm happy I can start getting to work on the body I want again, like I said, being sick sucks huge donkey balls...

English Drunks, Good Health, and Leaked Shit.... the good kind...

first, I finished the assignment for the diary entries of Pepys... during a fire that overtook London, the guy was still hitting up a couple of alehouses... Englishmen knew how to deal with their problems.
Second, I'm no longer sick. YAY >:D
third, I really don't have a lot to talk about today
HOLY SHIT CRYSIS 2 IS GREAT.... By that I mean the leaked version has problems with the SCAR weapon sounds (it sounds like a taser), and the rest of the audio in the game is just genuinely fucked... Other than that, the graphics and effects for not being complete yet were the best I've seen compared to any game out at the moment, really impressive! Definitely a game to buy and support!
Sorry for the short post, will find something more interesting to talk about tomorrow.

English Assignment is actually making me lol...

Ok, so I'm reading diary entries of an English naval officer, Samuel Pepys. basically the first entry was about killing King Charles I and showing his guts to a cheering crowd... after that is when the shenanigans begins. wait.... that was shenanigans, never mind that. So anyways, as the coronation begins for King Charles II, all the knights and noblemen make their toasts with wine and the new king is sworn in by the bishops at the Abbey (MEGACHURCHINOLDTIMES). So the knights ride off all drunk and shit and shit lets loose. there's something like 10,000 people drinking and eating as much as they can, PARTYING HARD. There were like twenty-four violinists... WHO NEEDS THAT MANY?! FUCK.
After that there was this huge fucking storm which all the crazy religious people thought was God punishing them for their party shenanigans and such. But their wrong, because God's not real, HAHA! Anyways.... Pepys ends out staying out really late cause he can't get home in the crowd... of course.. Then there's something about him drinking a pot of ale... A POT OF ALE.... POT.... that's a shit load right? No... he drinks much more later apparently somehow, which I call shenanigans on. So he drinks this "pot" of ale at this pub where there was an after-after party and then leaves that place to go see some bitching bonfires (who doesn't love some bonfires?!). Take into consideration... this late out and there's still like just the same amount of people out.
Eventually he sends his wife and her friend home, cause hell if he could bang her without throwing up at this point, and he goes to an after-after-after party with two of his 17th century buddies to drink even fucking more... so they raid this wine cellar and all drink till they throw up everywhere and pass out. they then wake up in their vomit with terrible 17th century hangovers.
During all of this shit taking place, a Serjeant's horse fell over on him and killed him, a kid threw a firecracker as some chick's face and blew her eye/face off... I bullshit you not, All I added were some F-bombs in there.... They partied like some mad cunts....mad cunts.... HAHA where the fuck does that originate??!
Questions:

1. Did the horse survive?
2. how much piss in the street resulted from this thing?
3. A FUCKING POT?! what was a pot back then?!

So yeah, this is how I plan to study for my English class this year so I do better... I'm going to actually read the shit and post it in a comical sense on here (is there a better way to say that?)

Being sick sucks huge donkey balls

I've been on a roller coaster with this fever/runny nose/cough thing for four days now.... FINALLY OVER IT... I think... nothing feels so nice as a hot shower though after being sick, I step out feeling brand fucking new, even though my nose is still being an annoyance. As long as I don't have another god damned fever, I NEED TO GET BACK TO SCHOOL! sitting in bed watching Penn & Teller is only fun for so long <__<
down to about 98.8 F at the moment and hope to continue to keep this shit down.  Just going to keep a positive mindset, keep drinking water, and eating regularly. Going to get to bed early and wake up about 7AM and see where I'm at, hopefully I can get back in the rhythm of things.
YAY RANDOM ENTRY NO ONE CARES ABOUT~! WOOT
Here's a funny picture since this was so boring...

Lan Parties Are a Pain

Every couple of weekends, Me and some friends (three others) will decide to have a LAN (Local Area Network) party. This basically, since we're PC gamers, entails three of the four of us depending on who's hosting the thing to completely dismantle our current computer and gaming setup at our own home. After about the 15-20minutes of work of taking it apart and putting it all in my car all nice n' snug, It's off to my friend's house... 25Mph because I'm scared of destroying my baby... once we all arrive around 5:00PM or so, it takes a good hour and a half just to get all the computers setup in an orderly fashion, which can be quite a task in a small square room.
Here is a couple pictures of what happened last time...

Bad Company 2...

GIANT MOUSE PAD, WHY!?

In the end, the party will last till morning and is always worth it if you have a plan of what you're going to play, otherwise you'll never agree on what to do and you'll all end up screwing around on chat roulette or facebook. One more thing.... WIRE MANAGEMENT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFES!

Why I use CRT for my main computer monitor...

First off, I'll make it clear that I have nothing against LCD monitors, I just prefer CRT, here is why:
  1. First, the refresh rate. If you find yourself with a good CRT monitor, then you can really customize what your refresh rate is. some of mine are as follows...
  • 2304x1440@80Hz
  • 2560x1600@68Hz
  • 1920x1080@105Hz
  • 1600x900@120Hz
  • Lower than that, and I can get past 140Hz...
Basically Hz is how many frames per each second the monitor can dish out, which is the fluidity of  the image being displayed, this makes the image seem more deep and less straining. most LCD panels will keep you between 59-75Hz, excluding the newer 120Hz 3d LCD panels.

     2. The contrast ratio:
This alone may be reason enough to choose the CRT, this is how many times blacker the blacks are than the whites. most LCDs will have about a 1000:1 contrast ratio assuming they're pretty ok, anywhere past that and you have some marketing bullshit. Dynamic Contrast Ratios (DCR) are what will make you think that the LCD will look so much better, boasting a 50,000:1 contrast ratio. This is basically the image dynamically changing the brightness and contrast of the image to meet the demands of whatever is being displayed. CRT on the other hand doesn't even need a measurable rating, it is just far more capable in the foundation of it's technology. I can display almost 'dark' blacks and blinding whites at the same instant.
FW900 CRT vs LCD
     3. Resolution
While generally you're going to have a sharper image with an LCD due to the Digital signal you'd be using with DVI (Digital Video Interface) wire, the resolutions for CRT are not native, meaning that if the hardware in the CRT is able, it can produce whatever your GPU and dish out. My CRT (FW900 I got refurbished from AccurateIT for $400) is meant only to reach up to  2304x1440@80Hz, but i get it as far as 2560x1600@68Hz and beyond, I can also have whatever aspect ratio I want since I can adjust the image on the screen with the onscreen controls. For gaming, analog, High resolution gaming is a really nice perk since it kinda of has a blurring effect, just so much that it reduces the need for AA (Anti-Aliasing).

    4. The color is just so much more juicy and accurate, but this really depends on the model of crt, there's always going to be some shitty tech of every generation.

this is why I like CRT monitors so much, but I'll always have an LCD. you just cant beat that sharpness for chatrooms and such, good for text based stuff. Not to mention the portability for LAN parties. My current setup consists of two CRT monitors and two LCD monitors, the best of two worlds!
From left to right:
900x1600@70Hz(portrait CRT on side) | 2560x1600@68Hz (FW900CRT) | 1024x768@60Hz (DELL E153FP LCD) | 1600x900@60Hz (Asus MS202 LCD)
Finally Pics....

A side project of mine... JEFF BRIDGES!

been painting Jeff Bridges from Tron Legacy for about a week, this is my first attempt at digital painting and is going quite well, wish me luck on the hair and eyes, this is just a time line of my work.
